Yarnteen recently received funding for Indigenous Cultural Support from the Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage amd the Arts (DEWHA). This is being used to develop and deliver Indigenous heritage and culture programs to the communities of Newcastle, Hunter Valley and Port Stephens. This funding also contributes to the Yarnteen Culture and Environment Education Program.
This Program aims to maintain and increase awareness of Indigenous culture through community involvement, presentations and cultural exchange. With the involvement of the Yarnteen Indigenous Social Enterprise Hub there is also support for the sustainable development of community organizations involved in cultural awareness.
